UNIX Basics SR187B
This course provides a general introduction to the UNIX operating
environment, marketplace, standards organizations, and major UNIX
versions. The goal is to provide students a basis for further training
on UNIX based solutions, and to prepare them to discuss opportunities
for UNIX solutions with their customers. This course is an update to
SR187 that has been expanded to reflect the continued growth and
evolution of the UNIX environment and marketplace.

CSO sales representatives, sales management and PSO consultants
worldwide.

None
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
o Identify the significance of key milestones in the evolution of
the UNIX operating system.
o List and define key components of the UNIX environment and
operating system.
o List customer benefits driving the growth of the UNIX market.
o List common objections to UNIX.
o Define the relationship between UNIX and Open Systems.
o List significant standards organizations and their role in
creating UNIX standards.
o Identify the major versions of UNIX and their distinguishing
features.
